ABILITIES FIRST: A Showcase of Resources for Enrichment & The philosophy and practice of including children or adults with disabilities in the same classrooms, programs, and community settings as people without disabilities. will bring together resources and unique services or products that meet the everyday needs and interests of families, individuals or caregivers for those with any A traditional term that generally means a person has a condition that makes it difficult for them to do things that those without disabilities can do. While we try to minimize use of this term because it emphasizes people’s limitations rather than strengths, it is sometimes necessary for diagnostic and funding purposes.... More whether it be developmental, intellectual, physical, mental or other as well.
Admission to the showcase is free and open to the public. Easily accessible, with plenty of handicap parking available.
All proceeds from the 2019 Showcase will support the mission of Abilities First.

Abilities First is looking for vendors with resources to adapt, support and enrich life in the following categories: entertainment, recreation, sports, travel, adaptive equipment and repairs, furnishings, legal, transportation, and specialized medical providers.

This is a community event to support and celebrate the interests, needs and abilities of individuals. With the Spirit of The philosophy and practice of including children or adults with disabilities in the same classrooms, programs, and community settings as people without disabilities. in mind, we encourage you, along with your friends, family, and agency to join the 2019 Flash Mob. Stay tuned for the music and dance moves!
Simply be there on March 9th at 1:30 p.m. at the Center Court of the Poughkeepsie Galleria when the music starts and JOIN IN! Dance moves can be adapted to a seated position by learning the arm motions. Feel free to wear your agency’s shirts and share in this celebration of abilities!
