Foundation for Abilities First NY Announces 2023 Board of Directors Additions

Wappingers Falls, N.Y. (March 28, 2023) – The Foundation for Abilities First NY (FAFNY), the fundraising arm for Abilities First, Inc. (AFI), is pleased to announce the addition of three community leaders to its Board of Directors.

Those additions include:

  • Marlo De La Rosa, lead account manager, commercial services at National Grid. De La Rosa has a bachelor’s degree from Marist College in professional studies with concentrations in organizational leadership and organizational communication. She also has an MBA from Marist College with a concentration in ethical leadership.

The support that Abilities First provides to families in the Hudson Valley is truly inspiring,” said De La Rosa. “Being part of such a wonderful organization is truly a blessing to me and I am honored to have the opportunity to join the AF Foundation Board. – Marlo De La Rosa

  • James D. McIver, Jr. P.G., managing geologist at C.T. Male Associates and regional office manager of the Lower Hudson Valley region offices. McIver has a bachelor’s degree in geology from University of Massachusetts, a master’s degree in geology and geophysics from Boston College, as well as an MBA from Marist College.

Magic Johnson said, ‘All kids need is a little help, a little hope, and someone who believes in them.’ Never was this approach more evident than what I saw in practice at Abilities First NY,” said McIver. “I was so moved by what I saw during my tour of the Dutchess County school campus that I knew within minutes that I wanted to be part of their mission. – James McIver

  • Brianna McKee, director of finance at McKee Construction Inc. in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and a financial analyst for Quavo, Inc. McKee has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Marist College with a double concentration in finance and marketing.

I’m honored anytime I have the opportunity to give back to my community, however, I am especially humbled to be able to serve on the Abilities First Foundation Board,” said McKee. “The mission of Abilities First is very near and dear to my heart and I look forward to contributing and making a positive impact. – Brianna McKee
