Poughkeepsie, N.Y. (November 2, 2018) — Abilities First, a premier provider of programs and services for individuals with disabilities in the Hudson Valley, has named Maria Darby to a newly established position, as Director of Philanthropy.
“We are pleased to have Maria joining our team at a time when our organization is experiencing significant growth and has recently launched the Foundation for Abilities First NY,” said Melissa McCoy, CFRE, Chief Advancement Officer of Abilities First. “Maria will work with our leadership and the board to further develop and implement the organization’s community relations and fund development strategies throughout the Hudson Valley, with a focus on garnering the financial resources to preserve, strengthen and support the ever-changing climate and needs within the human services industry.”
Darby formerly provided philanthropic leadership at Comfort Zone Camp and CarePoint Health Foundation, and most recently as the Director of Philanthropy for Bethel Woods Center for the Arts.
