Integrated Employment Services

Once they have received eligibility through Adult Career and Continuing Education Services - Vocational Rehabilitation (VESID), a job developer is designated to each program participant, working closely with him or her during the application and interviewing process, providing essential tools to secure employment, and more importantly, giving much-needed self-assurance so that they can sustain that employment. Our job developers also work closely with employers, guiding them in how they can best accommodate for the needs of their employees with disabilities. For individuals requiring a higher level of support and supervision on the work site, enclaves, structured as supervised work crews, may also be available.

Companies consistently share their satisfaction and sense of reward in providing Abilities First participants with employment opportunities. We are very proud of our ongoing relationships with these businesses. A few examples of those that work with us through IES include:
  • Bard College
  • Beekman Library
  • Best Buy

  • JD Johnson Plumbing
