On April 24th,
the Abilities First annual gala was held at the Grandview in Poughkeepsie and
guests were delighted with the festivities of the night, which were highlighted
through a “breaking news” theme. Complete with reporters, “live” news feeds,
and newspaper-style programs, the crowd of over 200 truly had an exciting
night.
Three very special awards
were presented during the Gala program. Alexander Nivel received the
Participant of the Year Award, Chartwells at Bard College received the Business
of the Year Award, The Employees of KeyBank received the Volunteer of the Year
award and Bill Rohde of Rohde, Soyka and Andrews received the Lynn and Nancy
Wall Award.
Also at the event, the
following Board Members were elected: John Morgan, President, Michael T. Flynn,
1st Vice President, Jeanine Agnolet, 2nd Vice President,
Stacey Renner, Treasurer and Renee Bulla, Secretary.
