Anyone who has had the opportunity to love a child knows that there is no greater feeling than watching her learn, grow and develop. From the time a baby enters the world, parents dream of the possibilities in his future. For parents of a child with disabilities, these dreams are often replaced by feelings of anxiety and fears of the unknown. All parents yearn for some certainty that life for their child will be happy and productive.
At Abilities First, we are here to restore hope for these parents and offer a promise to their children for today, for tomorrow, for every day thereafter. We may become friends in the neonatal intensive care unit when a child is born with severe physical disabilities or we may meet during the school years as we partner with a child’s home district to ensure full academic opportunity. Our friendship may develop as we provide an individual with disabilities a chance to work at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America or perhaps we meet the family of one of our seniors when they visit our neighborhood center. 
No matter what, once our relationship begins, we are committed to a lifetime of support and care for their loved one with disabilities to assure that they live the best life possible. With public funding for programs like ours becoming increasingly scarce, we diligently engage in multifaceted fund development initiatives, so that we can continue our long tradition of care to those who are impacted by developmental disabilities. We offer a broad range of giving options and recognition opportunities for those who are inspired to make a difference.
