One of our most rewarding programs for our many community partners is our Volunteer Services Program. It is here that our belief in providing opportunities to become a recognized and accepted part of the broader community is exceptionally apparent.
Our participants have the chance to gain valuable skills by working with other businesses and groups in the community as volunteers. In fact, those who develop friendships with our program participants appreciate their abilities at a deeper level, fostering tolerance and understanding of people with disabilities.
Ultimately, the volunteer program is meant also to segue to paid positions for our participants, helping them learn a specific skill-set in a staff-supported, integrated atmosphere. Our wide network of community participation in this program illustrates its benefits to both the participant and the organization itself. Some examples of our partners include the following:
Astor Home for Children
Dutchess Outreach Lunch Box
Fairview Fire Station
Family Partnership Center
LaGrange Association Library
Pines at Poughkeepsie
St. Francis Hospital
Vassar Brothers Hospital
